Ramsey’s son, Jake, told The New York Post in an exclusive interview that when they realized they would not survive, the couple made goodbye phone calls to their loved ones.

“Once they realized there was nothing they could do, my stepmom was on the phone with her mom while my dad made a call to me and my sister,” Jake said.

“We were asleep. He left us a message saying he was not going to make it and that he loved us so much, telling us goodbye.”

Jake, 24, described how unusual it was for him and his sister Rachel, 23, to hear his father so panicked.

“He called me once he realized there was no hope. It was a short voicemail. He just left me a voicemail. He said, ‘Buddy. I love you so much. It doesn’t look like we are going to make it. Tell Rachey I love her,’” he recalled to The Post.

“You never heard this guy panic but we heard panic and fear in his voice.”

In the background of the voicemail, rushing water could be heard as Tanya screamed, “We’re dying, we’re dying,” Jake said.

Jeff, who helped amputees and wheelchair users at the Adaptive Training Foundation, used his final moments to warn Tanya’s family, who were staying about 150 yards away.

That 4:30 am phone call ultimately saved the lives of her brother and mother.

“He rescued them because they would have slept in and they would have washed away. That cabin was destroyed, completely underwater. He saved their lives,” Jake said.

While Tanya’s body was later recovered by rescuers, Jeff’s body has not yet been traced.

Their whippet, Chloe, managed to survive the flooding and will be reunited with the family after being taken to a local rescue center.

Jake described it as the only “good news” to come from the tragic weekend, as Chloe was “such a huge piece” of his father and stepmother’s heart.

He also told of how a warning sent to Jeff and Tanya came far too late, after flood water had already engulfed the park.

The alert was sent to guests at 4:49 am and advised them to leave the park.

“We have just received an emergency notification from the fire department that we do need to evacuate the park due to the river flooding,” it read.

“Please gather your things and you may go to the church parking lot and wait for further notification.”

Jake said it was ridiculous that the notification had been sent so late.

“Right, literally, the same time he left her that voicemail as they were getting swept away, they received an evacuation text from their RV park saying, ‘Gather your belongings and head out as soon as possible.’ It was ridiculous,” he told The Post.

“I saw that he got that text as they were floating away. Literally right as he left my sister that goodbye message,” Jake added.

    “It’s your worst nightmare.”
