Trump Brands Musk A “Train Wreck” As He Mocks His “Ridiculous” Bid To Disrupt Two-Party U.S.
Donald Trump described Elon Musk as a “train wreck” as he slammed his idea for a third political party to compete with the Republicans and Democrats.
The U.S. president and Tesla CEO are continuing to trade blows after their fallout over Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which has now been signed into law.
In response to the new legislation, Musk announced his plan to launch the America Party, which he described as centrist.
- Donald Trump called Elon Musk a 'train wreck' and mocked his plan to start a third political party, calling it 'ridiculous' and doomed to fail.
- Elon Musk launched the America Party, a centrist group aiming to reduce debt, modernize the military with AI, and promote free speech and pro-natalist policies.
- Trump said third parties only cause disruption and chaos, claiming the current two-party system is the only one that works.

Trump slammed Musk in a Truth Social post, saying he had gone completely “off the rails.”
“I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely ‘off the rails,’ essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks,” he wrote.
“He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States – The System seems not designed for them.”

“The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds!”
Musk says his new political party will be focused on reducing debt, modernizing the military with AI and robotics, and will be pro-tech.
“When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy,” he posted on X on Saturday.
Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system!

“Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”
He also wants “less regulation across the board but especially in energy” and describes the America Party as “free speech” and “pro-natalist,” with “centrist policies.”
Trump had earlier told reporters that Musk’s plan was “ridiculous” and would never work.
“Third parties have never worked. So he can have fun with it, but I think it’s ridiculous,” he said after a weekend trip to his Bedminster golf club in New Jersey.

Musk has suggested the America Party could focus on Senate and House seats to gain popularity after running an X poll on whether he should launch it.
“One way to execute on this would be to laser-focus on just 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts,” he wrote on X.
“Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people.”

It is unclear if Musk has yet taken steps to legally form the party.
His criticism of the One Big Beautiful Bill—a sweeping legislative package that is expected to increase the U.S. deficit by $3.3 trillion over the next 10 years—came after he spent time working in Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to slash federal spending.
The row over the bill led to a public feud between Musk and Trump, with Musk later apologizing for some of his tweets about the president.
He had accused Trump of being implicated in the Epstein files, but has since deleted the post, and Trump accused him of being “crazy.”
While it appeared the feud between the pair had simmered, Musk continued to criticize Trump’s bill, and reports said Trump had even planted a story in TheNew York Times about him taking drugs.
Trump also suggested that he could deport Musk back to South Africa over his opposition and said, “DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon.”
