The Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team says it asked Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to leave the grounds after officers turned up at the gates.
It comes amid continuing anti-ICE protests across the city, with President Donald Trump deploying 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 active-duty Marines.
In a social media post on Thursday, the team said ICE had requested permission to access the parking lots, but they were refused.
- The Los Angeles Dodgers denied ICE agents permission to enter Dodger Stadium parking lots upon their request.
- ICE initially denied presence at the stadium, but Homeland Security later confirmed brief, unrelated CBP vehicle activity.
- Local protests erupted outside Dodger Stadium, condemning ICE presence and its impact on Latino communities.

“This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots,” the team said in a statement.
“They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled.”
ICE initially denied even being there, responding on X: “False. We were never there.”
But later, Homeland Security confirmed officers had attended but said it had nothing to do with the Dodgers.
“This had nothing to do with the Dodgers. CBP vehicles were in the stadium parking lot very briefly, unrelated to any operation or enforcement,” Homeland Security posted on X.

After news of ICE’s arrival spread on social media, a crowd gathered briefly outside Dodger Stadium to protest, local media reported.
Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez said her team immediately responded and she attended the stadium.
“Today, ICE positioned vans and agents at Dodger Stadium—private property where they had no permission to be,” she said in a statement.
“Their presence on land already scarred by the displacement of Latino families in Chavez Ravine is a direct continuation of generational trauma.”

“My team and I immediately responded and we are in close coordination with local partners and City agencies as we continue to respond to reports of ICE in District 1 and throughout LA. ICE tears families apart, disappears our neighbors, and terrorizes our communities.
“I urge the Dodgers—a billion dollar organization that profits off of an immigrant and Latino fan base—to stand with us as we demand ICE out of LA now.”
The incident comes as the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Trump can keep control of the National Guard troops he had deployed to L.A.

He was locked in a court battle with California Governor Gavin Newsom over the legality of their deployment, with Newsom strongly opposing it.
While a federal judge initially ruled Trump had to hand back control to Newsom, the appeals court intervened after the administration appealed the ruling.
Trump was allowed to keep control of the National Guard until a further court hearing, and that court hearing has now overruled the lower court and said control remains in his hands.
“BIG WIN in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on the President’s core power to call in the National Guard,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

“The Judges obviously realized that Gavin Newscum is incompetent and ill prepared, but this is much bigger than Gavin, because all over the United States, if our Cities, and our people, need protection, we are the ones to give it to them should State and Local Police be unable, for whatever reason, to get the job done.
“This is a Great Decision for our Country, and we will continue to protect and defend Law abiding Americans. Congratulations to the Ninth Circuit, America is proud of you tonight!”

Responding to the ruling, Newsom said: “Donald Trump is not a king and not above the law.
“Tonight, the court rightly rejected Trump’s claim that he can do whatever he wants with the National Guard and not have to explain himself to a court.
“We will not let this authoritarian use of military soldiers against citizens go unchecked.”
A wave of anti-ICE protests has been ongoing in the city since significant immigration raids targeted workplaces in and around L.A. at the start of June.
So who is lying, the Dodgers or Trump's Stasi? "We weren't there and besides, if we were there we weren't. We're Trump agents, not public servants."
