Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is under fire after revealing she voted for President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act without reading it.
In a post on X, Greene admitted that had she reviewed the legislation beforehand, she would not have supported it.
Greene’s specific criticism relates to a section in the bill regarding the regulation of artificial intelligence (AI).
- Marjorie Taylor Greene admitted she voted for the One Big Beautiful Bill without reading it and opposes its AI regulation section.
- The bill bans states from regulating AI systems entering interstate commerce for 10 years, a clause Greene calls a violation of state rights.
- The One Big Beautiful Bill extends Trump-era tax cuts, tightens Medicaid and immigration rules, and adds $3.8 trillion to the federal deficit.

The section prohibits the state from regulating AI models, systems, or automated decision systems “entered into interstate commerce” for a period of 10 years.
Voicing her concerns after the bill narrowly passed in the House and made its way to the Senate, Greene said the section must be removed.
“Full transparency, I did not know about this section on pages 278-279 of the OBBB that strips states of the right to make laws or regulate AI for 10 years,” she wrote.
“I am adamantly OPPOSED to this and it is a violation of state rights and I would have voted NO if I had known this was in there.
“We have no idea what AI will be capable of in the next 10 years and giving it free rein and tying states hands is potentially dangerous. This needs to be stripped out in the Senate.”

The bill is a sweeping legislative package aimed at overhauling the federal tax code, slashing domestic spending, and tightening regulations on healthcare and immigration.
It proposes to extend Trump-era tax cuts passed in 2017, introduce stricter eligibility requirements for Medicaid, and restrict federal funding for gender-affirming care and abortion-related services.
At the same time, it seeks to significantly increase funding for defense and border security initiatives, including enhanced surveillance and personnel at the U.S.-Mexico border.
But the bill’s tax provisions are projected to add approximately $3.8 trillion to the federal deficit over the next decade, according to estimates from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).

It also allows the U.S. government to borrow more money.
“With One, Big, Beautiful Bill, we will protect over 7 million jobs, raise take-home pay for American families by up to $13,000 per household, and reduce taxes for working-class Americans by as much as 13%,” Trump said on Truth Social.
“The bill will also remove 1.4 million illegal aliens from Medicaid and protect the programs for truly needy Americans.”
The hefty price is something that has irked Trump ally Elon Musk, who recently left his role at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Musk has disagreed with Trump’s proposed bill, at first saying it was “disappointing” and later releasing a statement describing it as a “disgusting abomination.”

Responding to the criticism, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said: “The president already knows where Elon Musk stood on this bill.
“It doesn’t change the president’s opinion. This is one big beautiful bill and he’s sticking to it.”
Greene has vowed not to vote for the bill when it comes back from the Senate unless the AI provisions are removed.
“When the OBBB comes back to the House for approval after Senate changes, I will not vote for it with this in it,” Greene said.
“We should be reducing federal power and preserving state power. Not the other way around.”
“Especially with rapidly developing AI that even the experts warn they have no idea what it may be capable of.”
But she was starkly criticized online for not reading what she voted for in the first place.
New York Representative Yvette Clark responded: “Reading is fundamental! Maybe if your colleagues weren’t so hellbent on jamming a bill down our throats in the dead of night, and bending the knee to Trump, you would’ve caught this, Sis!”
Republicans Against Trump replied: “So you voted for a bill without knowing what’s in it? Honestly, not surprising coming from you.”

Illinois Representative Delia Ramirez added: “Oh, Marjorie! If you had read the bill, you would’ve also seen that 149,705 of your constituents could lose their Medicaid.”
“Have you ever considered reading the bills before voting on them?? You never know, it could help,” another person wrote.
“You should not vote on a bill until you have fully vetted it….otherwise you are simply a rubber stamp politician,” one added.
Trump has urged senators to have the bill back on his desk by July 4.
"Greene admitted that had she reviewed the legislation beforehand, she would not have supported it." Jesus Christ on a pogo stick, how has she not been ridden out of town on a rail?
Majorly Tacky Greene is, like all NatCs (Nationalist Christians) and other RepubliKKKan supporters of the Trump regime, a disgrace to the human race.
