Neil Young  has told Donald Trump to focus on saving America from “the mess you made,” instead of obsessing over what rockers are saying about him.

In a post to his website, the 79-year-old singer criticized the U.S. President for being wrapped up in what celebrities such as Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift thought of him.

Young said that Trump was worried about thousands of musicians thinking he was ruining the U.S., instead of more serious issues, such as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“What are you worryin’ about, man?” Young wrote in an open letter addressed to Trump.

“Bruce and thousands of musicians think you are ruining America. You worry about that instead of the dyin’ kids in Gaza. That’s your problem.”

“I am not scared of you,” he continued. “Neither are the rest of us. You shut down FEMA when we needed it most.

“That’s your problem Trump. STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT ROCKERS ARE SAYING. Think about saving America from the mess you made.”

Young continued the letter by saying Swift and Springsteen were right in their opinions.

Pop megastar Swift is a vocal critic of Trump and endorsed Kamala Harris during the presidential election. In response, Trump has said he “hates” her and has made derogatory comments regarding her appearance.

Back in 2022, Young also made headlines for pulling his music from Spotify after the platform refused to axe Joe Rogan’s podcast.

He was among a vast number of people who had raised concerns and alleged that Rogan was circulating misinformation regarding COVID-19.

His latest comments come after Springsteen criticized Trump during his opening show in Manchester, England, last week.

The rock legend told the crowd that the current administration was “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.”

Springsteen also took aim at Trump’s immigration crackdown, saying officials were moving residents off American streets and “without due process of law, are deporting them to foreign detention centers and prisons.”

Ending his speech at the Co-op Live area on May 14, Springsteen vowed: “We’ll survive this moment.

“Now, I have hope, because I believe in the truth of what the great American writer James Baldwin said. He said, ‘In this world, there isn’t as much humanity as one would like, but there’s enough.’ Let’s pray.”

The tirade caught the attention of Trump, who in return called Springsteen “overrated” and said he was “not a talented guy.”

“Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK, who fervently supported Crooked Joe Biden, a mentally incompetent FOOL, and our WORST EVER President, who came close to destroying our Country,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

Trump called Springsteen a dried out prune after his criticism

“This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country, that’s just ‘standard fare.’ Then we’ll all see how it goes for him,” he added.

Young has now asserted that Trump is more interested in himself than American politics.

His letter continued: “You are more worried about yourself than AMERICA. Wake up Trump!! Remember what the White House is?”

Young then wrote “8647” and asked Trump if that is what he thought about, in reference to a recent social media post by ex-FBI boss James Comey.

Comey shared an image on his Instagram page showing the numbers “8647” drawn out in shells along the beach.

It was construed as a call to assassinate Trump as 86 as a slang term “to get rid of” or “to remove” something, and Trump is the 47th President of the U.S.

Comey has denied knowing what the message meant when he shared the image, and claimed to have found the shells already arranged during a walk.

But several Republicans, including Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, called for Comey to be arrested over the post.

“You are forgetting your real job. You work for us. Wake up Republicans! This guy is out of control. We need a real president,” Young concluded.

Young, who was born in Canada but has U.S. citizenship, is not the first rocker to speak out in support of Springsteen.

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder slammed Trump’s response to Springsteen’s comments, noting it was more name-calling than focusing on any serious issues.

Vedder told fans at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh: “Part of free speech is open discussion. Part of democracy is healthy public discourse.

“The name-calling is so beneath us. Bruce has always been as pro-American with his values and liberty, and his justice has always remained intact.
